Cautionary Tales for Children - Group Book Re-design Project

Cautionary Tales for Children, is a 1907 children's book written by Hilaire Belloc. It is a parody of the cautionary tales that were popular in the 19th century.

During my graphic design and illustration course at Loughborough University, we were given the brief to work on re-illustrating the book as a group project. For this we worked together to decide the theme of the book - for it to mirror a police case report. We decided that everyone in the group will each illustrate one poem, in their individual style - displaying it as the style of the 'reporting detective' of that poem/case.

On this project I helped to create the cover page, designing the 'police' crest and helping to design the back page. I was give the poem Algernon to design and illustrate, which can be seen below.
